Back from Bimmerland!!!

Just let me start off by stating, if you are lucky enough in your lifetime to purchase a BMW, please order one and pick it up at the performance center in South Carolina. It was such a fun time. Rachel and I went via airplane from Birmingham to Spartanburg. We were picked up by the Marriott and driven to the hotel where we were treated like kings and queens. Everything is provided and paid for by BMW. The next morning we had breakfast and were taken to the performance center at around 7:45. We were one of three couples there to take delivery of a new vehicle. One couple was picking up a 328 convertible and the other couple picked up a x5 diesel. Our first order of business was testing out the extremes of our new rides. So we got in a vehicle like ours for testing. We started with the emergency braking exercise. Basically get up to 50 and slam on the brakes and see how quickly the car stops and see how easy the vehicle still steers under hard braking. I love this exercise. It is good stress relief!! Next we did the slalom course. If you are prone to motion sickness, this one may get to you a bit. But mucho grande fun to me and rachel!! Last we did everyone's favorite...the Skid Pad. A huge donut shaped concrete pad which is polished and then wet down to be ultra slippery. The objective..go around the center of the circle at about 30mph and then floor it causing the car to spin out and do your best to recover it. Most people just end up doing 360's at 30mph. Much better than a roller coaster if you ask me. After this we went and did the factory tour and the museum tour. Let me just say that the factory is totally awesome. Everything moves so perfectly through its own process. All the cars are hand buffed in the paint department and assembled in phases by people except for putting the frame together, which is performed by super cool robots!! They said they build around 500 x5 and x6's per day for the entire planet. For those who don't know, BMW does not build any cars which are not sold. In other words, each car is specked out by either a dealer, for their lot or a end customer as a special order, which is what we did. So before a vehicle is even started it is already paid for!! This is how BMW is so profitable, they have no cars to have to sell off the line. Pretty ingenious if you ask me. I was able to spy behind closed curtains a upcoming M-X5, the mac-daddy of the X5 with 500 horsepower!! After lunch, we then took delivery of our new baby...the X6 35i. She is a beauty!! Afterwards we began our trek back to Alabama. It was a super good time and I hope we get to do it again soon. If nothing else, we plan to go back and attend more of the driving schools that they offer. Till Next Time......look out for the red X6 speeding down the road!

Headed to South Carolina Tomorrow!!

So Rachel and I get a little vacation beginning tomorrow until Friday. We are getting ready to leave on a jet plane for greenville/spartanburg S.C. I am very excited about the trip. We are picking up our new ride from the BMW factory. It should be extremely fun. They put us up at the Marriott and feed us and give us about 2 hours track time in a vehicle like the one we are getting and then they will give us a tour of the factory. After lunch they will give us a thorough overview of our new X6 for about 2 hours and then we are free to drive home. We need a little away time, so this comes at a good time for both of us. We'll add pics when we get back.

I got a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell!!

So if you get a fever, and you are sick you usually go to the doctor, right? Sometimes even when you are well you go to the doctor for a routine appointment. Well, the later was the case yesterday. Claire had her 2 month checkup with Dr. Addison. We made sure to schedule a "first" appointment so we would not have to be there that long. He doesn't start on Thursdays until 12:00 so we got a 12:30 appt. We showed up early at 12:15 to sneak in front of anyone else with a 12:30 appt. We get to the waiting room and perfect, no one is there. This should be a quick in and out. WRONG!!!!!!!!! We wait for 1 hour and 30 min in the waiting room and then when we finally get called back we spend another hour and 20 min in the room before we get to leave. Our doctor is an ASS by the way. When he comes in the douche bag doesn't even apologize for being late. Like we don't have better places to be. Claire has been wheezing, irritable, and for the first time yesterday had blood in her poop. He showed no concern what so ever. If something bad happens, I guess I know who to file a lawsuit against. When we left the doctor's office, I was so mad I started punching the elevator like it was my own personal Rihanna!! Man, was I hot under the collar!! I definitely had a fever and the only prescription was more cowbell!!

Compare and Contrast: The NCAA and Ball Licking.

Who, besides me, thinks the NCAA should bend over and see how it feels for a change? The sheer thought of a pending investigation of Alabama sends my brain into overload. Let me get this straight...USC can pay Reggie Bush money to play football and nothing happens and Auburn can give away grades in sociology so players pass and nothing happens, but Alabama football players sell their textbooks for money and we may get in trouble for it??!! Pardon me, but in a thesaurus, right next to NCAA should be the words Ball Lickers!! These NCAA panel people can go jump up their own ass and get their noses out of ours. Cheating goes on in every sport at every school. Nick Saban cheats, Gene Chizik cheats, Urban Meyer cheats and Lane Kiffin is a DOUCHE BAG and cheats. So what, may the best cheater win. But the NCAA getting involved is completely stupid, when they don't even distribute equal punishments. The penalty should be uniform across the board and they clearly show favoritism and bias towards certain schools. So for all those Alabama fans out there and those who despise the NCAA, "it is you NCAA who are the ball lickers!!!! Bend over and take it up your cornhole"

Gossip Girl Sucks

Welcome to my (Mc)World.

This is my first post as a blogger. My wife has been on board for quite a while now. She is much better at this than I am, so be patient with me. I will fill you in on a bit about me. I am 30 years old with a wonderful wife, Rachel and two beautiful girls, Addison 2 and Claire 2 months. I am very blessed to have such a wonderful family. God has been so good to me!!

I am a huge Mac fanatic and Car buff. I self proclaim myself as more knowledgeable than most car salesmen. In fact, most car salesmen piss me off because there is no reason they should not know everything there is to know about a car...I mean it is there job!! My vehicle of choice is a BMW. As far as I'm concerned they are the best driving vehicles on the planet. No other car gives you as much of a feel for the road as a Bimmer. I got my first one in 2000. I leased it from Townsend BMW in Tuscaloosa. It was a 323Ci Coupe. Then in 2003 I leased a X5 which was a huge step up and probably my favorite up till now. Then in 2006 I got a 330i sedan. I finally got my wife a BMW in December 2007. She got a 528i which she absolutely loves!! But as I write this blog our newest addition waits for us in South Carolina. We are going to the factory in Spartanburg, SC to pick our brand new 2009 BMW X6!! We will get track time as well as a tour of the factory. Then we will get a 2 hour overview of our new ride. Holy Crap this thing is going to be awesome!! Did I mention I like BMW's?

As far as my Mac addiction, it has been going on for about 6 years now. My wife actually had the first Mac back when we were dating, but I like to remind her that she only got it because of me. They are wonderful computers, and now as you all know they make the best cell phone as well. If anyone ever asks me about computers I always tell them to get a Mac. So far I have converted my Mother, Father, both brothers, Jay 27 and Joseph 23, Brooke Story, my brother and sister-in law, Andy and Sarah. I should be on Steve Jobs' payroll.

I am also the local home audio/video guru. I run Premiere Audio/Video in Cullman. I install and sell HDTV's and Surround sound systems. I sell some truly unbelievable stuff. Check us out at www.premiere-audio.com

Of course as most people know, I am a HUGE Alabama Football Fan. I first started going to the games at age 10 and I haven't missed too many games since then. I was lucky enough to go to the National Championship game against Miami in 1992 at the Sugar Bowl. Still one of the greatest moments in my life. The early part of this century has been rough (beating Auburn and LSU a total of 2 times in the first 7 years) but as last season proved, I believe the future is very bright. Thank God we have Nick Saban!!! Once again welcome to my blog.
